Recruitment Update:
The fall 2008 on campus
interview, resume collect, and direct mail schedules are now posted
at: http://www.utlaw.edu/students/career/oncampus.htm.
Application materials for the on-campus interview and resume collect
program must be received in our office by Monday, July 28th, 2008 at
3:00 p.m.
Please
Note: Fall on campus
interviews will begin on August 18th, 2008, the week
prior to the start of classes.
To be eligible to
participate in fall recruitment, you need to have your resume and
cover letter reviewed by a member of the career services office, and
participate in a mock interview prior to any on-campus
interview. Contact Jessica at jessica.mehl@utoledo.edu
to schedule a resume review and/or a mock
interview.
Third
Annual Alumni Mock Interview
Program:
The Third Annual Alumni
Mock Interview Program is scheduled for Thursday, August 14th,
2008 at the College of Law. All students are
invited to participate, whether or not you intend to take part in
fall recruitment. Participation in this program will fulfill
the fall recruitment mock interview requirement.
The agenda for the
evening is as follows:

– 6:40 pm: Timed Mock Interviews with Alumni (Two 30 minute
interviews)

– 7:30 pm: Advice from the Pros (Alumni share tips for
interviewing)

Fall
Recruitment Fashion Show:
On August
14th, 2008, WLSA is sponsoring a Fall Recruitment Fashion
Show. I hope you will be able to join in as they highlight
some of the DO’S & DON’TS OF FALL RECRUITMENT FASHION. Student
models will take to the runway to show us what to wear, and what to
avoid. A personal shopper will talk about the importance of
investing in high quality suits and coordinating accessories.
(and how to do so on a budget) Also, a special guest will
provide tips & advice on how to maintain a sense of
professionalism throughout the interview season and beyond.

Clerkships:
If
you have previously indicated an interest in applying for
post-graduate federal judicial clerkships, you should have received
an e-mail message yesterday that contains important application
details. If this message did not reach you, and you do intend
to apply for federal judicial clerkships, please notify our office
at lcs@utoledo.edu

Justice Works Post-Graduate Fellowship Application Now Available
Online:
The 2009 online
application is now available at http://info.equaljusticeworks.org/fellowships.
If you are interested in reviewing the application form in
order to advise students, you may do so by creating a profile and an
application now.
IMPORTANT
REMINDERS:
Review the application
ASAP. We recommend
that prospective candidates review the online application form as
soon as possible to familiarize themselves with how it works and to
consider the necessary items required to apply - the online
application, the Certification Form (signed by both the candidate
and the host organization), and up to two letters of
recommendation.
Hard copy documents must
be received by September
16th. The
deadline for submission of the application, which is done online, is
5 pm EDT on September 16th. A signed Certification
Form and up to 2 recommendation letter(s) must be received by Equal
Justice Works no later than September 16th. These
items must be mailed or hand delivered. Faxes and email will
not be accepted.
