Recruitment Update- LESS THAN 2 WEEKS UNTIL APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The fall 2008 on campus
interview, resume collect, and direct mail schedules are now posted
at: http://www.utlaw.edu/students/career/oncampus.htm.
Application materials for the on-campus interview and resume collect
program must be received in our office by Monday, July 28th, 2008 at
3:00 p.m.
Please
Note: Fall on campus
interviews will begin on August 18th, 2008, the week
prior to the start of classes.
To be eligible to
participate in fall recruitment, you need to have your resume and
cover letter reviewed by a member of the career services office, and
participate in a mock interview prior to any on-campus
interview. Contact Jessica at jessica.mehl@utoledo.edu
to schedule a resume review and/or a mock
interview.

Third
Annual Alumni Mock Interview
Program:
The Third Annual Alumni
Mock Interview Program is scheduled for Thursday, August 14th,
2008 at the College of Law. All students are
invited to participate, whether or not you intend to take part in
fall recruitment. Participation in this program will fulfill
the fall recruitment mock interview requirement.
The agenda for the
evening is as follows:

– 5:30 pm: Alumni and Students Arrive and

– 5:40 pm: Welcome and Event
Overview

– 6:40 pm: Timed Mock Interviews with Alumni (Two 30 minute
interviews)

– 7:30 pm: Advice from the Pros (Alumni share tips for
interviewing)

The program is open to the first 20 students to RSVP.

Fall
Recruitment Fashion Show:
On August
14th, 2008, WLSA is sponsoring a Fall Recruitment Fashion
Show. I hope you will be able to join in as they highlight
some of the DO’S & DON’TS OF FALL RECRUITMENT FASHION. Student
models will take to the runway to show us what to wear, and what to
avoid. A personal shopper will talk about the importance of
investing in high quality suits and coordinating accessories.
(and how to do so on a budget) Also, Denise Mueller, President
of the Toledo Women’s Bar Association will provide tips & advice
on how to maintain a sense of professionalism throughout the
interview season and beyond.

The
Critchfield Law Scholarship:
The Law Firm of
Critchfield Critchfield & Johnston is sponsoring The Critchfield
Law Scholarship. Current or former residents of Ashland,
Holmes, Knox, Medina, or Wayne County who have completed at least
one semester of law school and who anticipate returning to the area
to practice are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Information regarding the scholarship and a copy of the scholarship

Judge would
like to hire a 2nd year law student as a full-time civil
bailiff. Will work as a personal and confidential employee for
an individual Judge. Maintains and updates the Judge’s civil
docket and manages all civil cases in a proper and efficient
manner. Processes motions, sets pre-trials, and communicates
with all parties involved in civil cases. Insures records are
complete and accurate for possible appellate review. Must be
proficient in typing, word processing and filing. Strong
people, telephone and computer skills needed. Work hours are
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Benefits include paid
holidays, paid sick and vacation leave, and insurance
coverages (medical, dental, prescription). Starting salary:
$19.438 an hour. Increase after 6 months. Submit letter of
